Thanksgiving is around the corner…and 3P is bringing not one bird, but 6 birds to our table! Create a remarkably unique and flavorful Thanksgiving menu “on the fly” for a small group with sweet and savory glazed Cornish Game Hens. All this deliciousness served on a simple seasonal tablescape with our pumpkins and pears centerpiece + exceptional edible favors! Get ready for turkey day done easy, sans turkey. Let’s get going on a table everyone is sure to “be thankful” for!
The team got rolling on our Game hen gameplan, with “The Man Cave” prepping the birds while we prepped the table! Featuring our “Sweet and Seasonal” centerpiece as the main attraction; we wanted everything to “fall” into place around pears and pumpkins. We took down our trusty “Event Boxes” for fall, and started “foraging” for Practically Perfect pieces for our table, and house decor!
By implementing our Christmas runner and coordinating holiday napkins, we repurposed holiday classics at no additional cost. Sometimes thinking out of the box allows you to create new tablescapes without constantly purchasing new items. We then stacked our crystal plates as shown earlier HERE, and added our pretty pears! A touch of shimmery table-scatter at each end of our runner, with a fall-leaf tea-light…and we were ready for the next step!
We layered our favorite fall colored placemats to anchor green chargers usually used at Christmas, with antique white china plates. Each place setting was topped with a folded napkin to match our runner, and a colorful faux gourd to tie in our pumpkin and pear centerpiece. Each season, we usually choose a few on sale accessories to update and add to. Our purchases this season included these adorable and affordable autumnal glasses from the Dollar Store and a trendy vintage rag-time scarf. Using a 40% off Michael’s coupon….this $7 table accessory warmed up our look. These were quite the seasonal steals!
Each place setting came complete with an edible caramel pear favor adorned with a touch of fall foliage, ‘leave-ing’ room for each guest’s name! A tealight on the left of each setting added balance and light to the table and wafted a perfect pumpkin scent throughout.
For a quick and simple fall favor, while we hope nobody HAS any issues…we also featured a “tissue for your issue” and adorned our new glasses with adorably decorated tissue favors (available at Michael’s for $1) for something a tiny bit different. If you don’t have time to bake up caramel pears, each guest still has a little bit of fall to take home with them.
This table-scape took us less than 30 minutes to bring to the table, and came together beautifully! Now let’s move on to our menu! Stayed tuned for the full menu complete with recipes!
