An Apple a Day Keeps the Doctor Away: A “Get Well” Basket for a Friend!

Showing love to the people in our lives that are going through illness, or a bout with a cold is more important than the actual “get well” gift itself. This is an idea that may add a smile to someone feeling under the weather. Why not bring a bushel of vitamin C and cheer to someone in your life who could use a dose of love and care?

Michael’s craft store has apple “bushels” that you can purchase, for between $3-5! Check them out HERE. A few other items that you can add, and of course personalization is key…might be:

– A selection of fresh apples. We chose Red Delicious, Granny Smith, and Fuji while they were on sale at our local Von’s.
– Crispy Apple Chips
– Caramel Apple Dip. It’s also available in “Light”!
– A few 100% Juice Apple Juice Boxes
– Apple Vanilla Blossom Body Wash
– Market Fresh Apple Anti-Bac Hand Lotion
– An Apple Slicer
– A Cinnamon Apple Scented Candle
– Cinnamon Apple Tea
…you can also add a tea towel or coordinating tissue-paper to make your apple basket really “bloom”.

3P “Green” Basic: We save the “netting ” from when we purchase packaged produce like lemons or tangerines from the grocery store, and for a little bit of a “country” feel, we re-purposed the netting as an environmentally savvy bow for our basket. We also ELEVATED our gift items inside our basket using recycled tissue paper to give it a lift, without wasting any paper.

You can make a big basket, or a little bushel…whatever size is just right to give someone you love a little boost! This apple-themed gift basket is a creative way to say “Get Well” to a friend or family member.

Be sure to add the 3 C’s to your next “Get Well Apple Basket”: creativity, caring, and yes…even caramel apple dip! 😉 How do YOU say “get well” to a friend?
