Inside the Cave
In another century it seems (well actually I guess it was – strictly speaking) I did the “Take Your Child to Work” day every now and then with Jessi…back when it was “take your daughter to work day”, in the late 1980’s to mid-1990’s. I taught her about what I did, and as we are now in 2015, the tables have certainly turned, and now she’s teaching ME!
Back last century, Jessi would come to work listen to some of what I was talking about and then very happily get under my desk to draw me pictures, complete with full crayon coloring! All the coordination work was worth every second, they were incredibly memorable and fun days. She was and still is, quite the Artiste…(as you can see with her photography on the blog)
Back to the Future – as you may have heard, I’ve entered a new challenge…of part-time teaching “Event Management” (Brenda and I have been producing events now for over 20 years) the teaching being at the local Junior College (CSN). It’s been really interesting as I’ve never done it before, a touch time-consuming as I hadn’t the slightest idea how much time goes into preparing each 3 hour class, and very much immediately “in-my-face” as I was suddenly thrust into the wonderful world of today’s TECHNOLOGY to support my teaching efforts, most of which I didn’t have a clue about….
Yes, the story has a happy ending as my 3P daughter Jessi now got to teach her dear old Dad! YIKES, what I didn’t know at first – but now do thanks to her!
